If the San Diego County housing market craves stability, it’s got it.
For the fourth straight month, the county’s median price stood at $325,000 in November, MDA DataQuick reported yesterday. It’s the first time in 21 years of record keeping that the median price has stayed the same for so long.
“Obviously, there’s a lot going on behind the numbers,” DataQuick analyst Andrew LePage said, “but at the end of the day, the main thing it signals is that prices have firmed in a lot of areas.”
Factors at work, at least for the moment, include continued demand for lower-cost homes, dropping inventories of homes listed for sale, historically low interest rates, and a general improvement in economic conditions and consumer confidence.
